Description 

SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of assigned task in the maintenance and repair of buildings, building components, vehicles and equipment in all facilities operated by Aztec Shops. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES DEPENDING ON LOCATION:

  • Maintains and provides minor repairs to doors, windows, walls, floors, drains, domestic plumbing systems and HVAC systems.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on company vehicles including golf carts, trucks, vans, and delivery trucks.

  • Maintains, repairs building fixtures, furnishings and equipment.

  • Performs preventive maintenance on vehicles

  • Assists Technician's in complex jobs such as repair and installation of electrical lines and fixtures, plumbing systems, plaster, drywall and large area painting.

  • Installs furniture, fixtures and signs along with performing a variety of unskilled tasks as needed.

  • Performs unskilled and semi-skilled tasks of an emergency nature.

  • Transport materials and tools to and from job site and drive automotive equipment in conjunction with accomplishment of main tasks.  

  • Assists in relocation of furniture, fixtures and equipment.

  • Performs unskilled tasks incidental to larger assigned jobs, such as touch-up of painting or cleaning of ceilings, walls or floors adjacent to work areas.

  • Must comply with and ensure continued, consistent compliance with all company policies, and federal, state, and local laws/regulations including but not limited to: employment, safety, and health.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements 

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or GED. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and satisfy performance standards.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

Valid California Driver's License is required.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: 

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers vendors and work groups.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

 

REASONING ABILITY: 

Requires the ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out general written or oral instructions.  Must be able to multi-task, prioritize work and pay attention to detail.

 

MANUAL DEXTERITY:

Must have average levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.  Requires the ability to use and identify a variety of materials and tools used in miscellaneous building and repair work, equipment maintenance.

 

PHYSICAL COMMUNICATION: 

Must have the ability to talk/expressing and/or exchanging ideas and hear/perceiving sounds. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS AND HAZARDS

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is always exposed to food fumes, airborne particles and mechanical tool fumes.  The employee frequently works with or near moving mechanical parts, construction equipment, and is exposed to humid and hot conditions, outside conditions and cleaning chemicals.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional higher levels when using some required equipment.

 

BACKGROUND CHECK INFORMATION: 

A background check will be conducted after a conditional offer of employment is extended by the company and accepted by the applicant and must be satisfactorily completed prior to any applicant beginning work in a full-time, part-time non-student, or sensitive student capacity with Aztec Shops Ltd.

Additionally, based on the nature and scope of the position, the background check may also include a credit report, motor vehicle report, and verification of professional licenses. 

Failure to answer background check questions honestly, and satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the employment status of applicants or continued employment of current Aztec Shops employees who apply for promotional positions which require a background check.
