Job purpose
The Part-TimeData Entry Assistantis responsible for supporting the data governance and stewardship process at Communities In Schools of the Dallas Region. This includes; performing daily Data Entry support, performing audits of internal databases to monitor for compliance with all funder and regulatory requirements as it relates to data and reporting, and assisting with data migration from internally managed databases to state / funder managed systems as needed.
Duties and responsibilities
Data Entry & Data Cleaning
· Support the Data Team and Program Team with special Data Entry or data cleaning projects, as needed.
· Review and input complete data retrieved from our Salesforce Database into the CIS-NAV Database.
Data Compliance
· Help steward all policies and procedures specific to data compliance that meet or exceed the minimum expectations of funders, partners, governing bodies, applicable laws, and external auditors.
· Assist with performing internal audits on a random sample of files within program databases at least twice per year.
· Support ad-hoc audits of internal databases.
· Review and support in the verification of student data
Data Migration
· Assist with routinely extracting data from internally managed databases and migrate that data into state and/or funder managed systems.
· Check for and correct data migration errors.
· Identify common errors in original Data Entry by field staff and suggest improvements to database trainings, policies and procedures, or database structure to minimize such errors.
Other
· Maintain a deep knowledge of program operations as it relates to data processes and procedures.
· Participate actively in all scheduled team meetings as needed.
· Actively supports all 3rd party research studies and evaluation and analytics initiatives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position will possess:
· A strong desire to work within a mission-centric organization that empowers students to stay in school and achieve in life.
· Beginner skills in data management and willingness and ability to advance in this area.
· Basic knowledge of two (2) or more of the following: Salesforce, Excel, Survey Monkey, Tableau, SPSS, STATA, NVivo, or similar.
· Ability to write clearly, concisely, and professionally in the English language.
Working conditions
This is primarily an office-based position. Opportunities to occasionally work remotely may be determined on a case-by-case basis. This position requires a minimum of 5-6 hours weekly to meet objectives.
Physical requirements
· Ability to lift, carry and otherwise move up to 15 pounds on a regular basis.
· Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, or walk for various lengths of time throughout the day.
· Ability to utilize computer equipment to complete daily work responsibilities.
· Ability to operate fax/copy machines, telephone, calculator, and general office equipment on a daily basis.
· Ability to travel for meetings, agency trainings and other miscellaneous work assignments within or outside the Greater Dallas Area. Reliable transportation is a must.
