Opportunity to join a dynamic assisted living company with several locations in the Southwest. This part-time position involves assisting the Corporate Controller with maintaining the books and managing the finances of the company’s several different operating entities. Experience with Quickbooks and strong Excel skills are required. Familiarity with commercial banking platforms (i.e. ACH, Wire, BillPay). Estimated need is 60 – 80 hours per month. Work schedule is flexible, but will be weighted more heavily in the first half of the month. Prefer candidate located in the Hartford, CT metro area. Some in-person training might be needed early on, but the candidate will otherwise work remotely 100%.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Position reports directly to the Corporate Controller and will involve frequent contact with other senior executives and company owners
- Assist Controller with monitoring and categorizing expenses plus investigating and resolving errors and issues that arise with transactions
- Assist with ensuring that all revenues are collected and recorded properly
- Help coordinate and exchange financial data with admins around the company, who enter bills, create client invoices, and log invoice payments

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 3+ years’ experience of related work experience
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar bookkeeping software is essential
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong Excel skills including familiarity with formulas
- Familiarity with banking platforms including BillPay, ACH, wires, and intercompany transfers
- Experience in senior housing or real estate investment partnerships is a plus
- Must be a self-starter, able to work independently and manage time effectively
- Excellent communication skills required
