Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park is located on beautiful Kentucky Lake in Gilbertsville, Kentucky. This Resort Park covers 1,000 acres and is one of the premier lodging and dining facilities on the lake, boasting a marina, campground, 18-hole professional golf course, executive cottages, and conference center.
We're searching for a Park Business Manager! This position reports directly to the Resort Park Manager and is a key administrative team member. The Park Manager oversees all operations of the business office including budgeting, payroll, accounting, revenue generation for Kentucky Dam Village’s thriving $6-7 million operation.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Oversee the operational aspects of the Business Office.
  • Work closely with and assist the Resort Park Manager with overall park management.
  • Responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash accountability.
  • Oversee payroll for the park; work with Park Central Office HR to resolve payroll issues and assist with keying employment actions.
  • Manage daily operations; submit daily business reports to Parks’ Central Office.
  • Handle inventory control and order products for the park.
  • Supervise two employees (includes scheduling, training, conducting performance reviews).
We are seeking a highly organized individual, with strong accounting and interpersonal skills. Work is performed primarily in an office setting but this position often works throughout the park and on park grounds.
Preferred skills and abilities include:
  • Previous experience in a similar role (accounting or business management in a park or hospitality setting)
  • Understanding of government accounting principles and procedures.
  • Previous hospitality experience.
  • Time management: ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience with accounting software, Microsoft Office, and payroll systems.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, public administration or a related field.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have two years of experience in accounting, business administration, public administration, management or a related field.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in accounting, business administration, public administration, management or a related field will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 20 years and one day of age at time of employment. Must obtain S.T.A.R. (Server Training in Alcohol Regulations) certification from the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control within six months of employment. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
Working Conditions
Works primarily in an office but will often work throughout the park and on the park grounds.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 12 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
