Celanese Engineered Materials (EM) is seeking a Business Development Manager for this REMOTE role in the US or EMEA to join the Application Development Team for our Industrial, Medical & Consumer (IMC) business unit. This individual will report to the Regional Application Development Director.
Summary
The Principal Business Development Manager role for NEOLAST™ is a multi-faceted customer / market facing position responsible for driving New Business growth through an entrepreneurial mindset. The Principal Business Development Manager is responsible for:
- Develop, drive, and deliver the growth plan for NEOLAST™ with target brand owners and value chain partners in the Western Hemisphere.
- Build and grow pipeline by scouting, targeting, and identifying new growth opportunities at new and existing customers.
- Develop strong relationships with influencers and decision makers at key accounts (brand owners, garment makers, fabric mills) along the entire value chain.
- Possess in-depth industry/segment knowledge to anticipate trends and changes and bring internally “Voice of the Customer” and new product/technology development opportunities.
- Understand the dynamics and trends of the apparel industry and brands & retailer’s business and provide the inputs for business strategy.
- Support Application Development Engineers to drive specification wins and support Sales Managers to provide forecast at key customers.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Textile Science, Material Science, or Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Plastics or Equivalent) required
- Experience of working in textile value chain, including brand-houses (brand owners) and mills, designer-houses, etc.
- 10+ years of experience in garment/textile industry in sales, marketing, or Business Development or other customer-facing roles.
- Strong understanding of the material selection process at brand owners
- Willingness to travel 30-40% of the time with overnight stay(s) involved
- Self-starter, entrepreneurial mindset, strong personal presence, and interpersonal skills
- Textile/ fabric technical background
- Understand sustainability values and trends for textile industry.
