Job Title: Paraprofessional - KindergartenJob Family: Classified - Student SupportDepartment: Grand Valley Center for Family LearningFLSA Status: Non-exemptPay Range: Paraprofessional Salary Schedule: $15.00 - $26.25 per hourReports to: Building PrincipalJob ID #: 1285 General Summary: Kindergarten paraprofessionals assist students with academic needs under the direction of a certified teacher. The paraprofessional assists the teacher in general daily classroom activities, helps with academics, runs small groups and cares for their physical, emotional health and safety, affirming their abilities, and striving to promote dignity in all relationships. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required2 year associates degree or 2 years of verifiable college course work (48 semester hours) or the ability to successfully pass the WorkKeys proficiency testProven experience working with studentsEffective communication skills; oral, written, and visual with adults and childrenUnderstanding of basic principles of early childhood developmentRequired Duties and Responsibilities: Co-teaching lessons under the Teacher's guidance, leading small groups or individual instruction and discussions, and reviewing classwork.Organizing the classroom and teaching materials, monitoring the classroom during lessons, and minimizing distractions and disruptions.Supervising students in and out of the classroom.Attending to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs.Performing clerical duties, such as tracking student attendance, typing, filing, copying, and grading tests and homework.Ensuring the upkeep of educational materials, equipment, and supplies.Other duties as assigned Application Procedure: APPLY ONLINECertified positions require a Colorado certificate or license.
