Job Title: Paraplanner
Report To: Financial Advisor
Job Status: Part-time
Job Summary
The Paraplanner at Principal Resource Group will desire working in a team-oriented independent office, to deliver a high-quality planning experience for our clients. This individual will work with the financial advisor in providing financial planning and investment advisory support. Key responsibilities include preparation of financial plans, portfolio administration, client experience, and coordination of client service needs with team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Master and improve functionality of various programs. Ability to research, recommend and implement technology upgrades as needed.
- Generate new client paperwork and follow new client onboarding process.
- Assist in client appointment preparation, note taking in appointments, enter client notes in Redtail, and manage follow up workflow.
- Prepare risk analysis with RiskAlyze for Advisor.
- Process trades as directed and rebalance models in Wealthport.
- Prepare and mail monthly client statements.
- Research investments and make recommendations of additions or subtractions to each advisors core investment watch list. Meet with investment fund representatives and listen to webinars as needed. Assist in portfolio allocations, models and rebalancing.
- Manage projects to improve company scalability, automate processes, enhance client experience, & new business development.
- Collaborate with Financial Advisor in creating financial plans for clients including investment reviews, retirement modeling, insurance analysis, tax mitigation planning, college planning, Social Security analysis, lump sum vs annuity pension analysis, and various other wealth management client needs.
- Research ad-hoc topics & complete special projects as assigned
- Assist in marketing projects, analytics, social media, prospect/client material, blog, and website
- Assist in daily resolution of custodial alerts, client requests and other back office support
- Support ongoing efforts for growth with new clients and continuous interaction with current clientele to provide an excellent client experience
- Maintain an orderly office environment
- Interact with a wide variety of companies to obtain needed information or request that certain actions be taken and follow up to ensure processes are completed in a timely manner
Periodic Duties and Responsibilities
- Be available for other projects as needed
- Cross train with other teams in order to backup other operational duties as needed
Skills Required
- Understanding and proficiency are required in regards to customer relationships, customer service, data entry, confidentiality, problem resolution and MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, CRM, and Financial Databases (Redtail, MoneyGuide Pro, and RiskAlyze).
- Working industry knowledge and overall familiarity with relevant internal and Broker-Dealer resources
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the financial services industry -or- an equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training as approved by the firm.
- Series 7 preferred.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
