Full Time, Paralegal/Legal Assistant - (min. 2 years NJ Law Firm exp. Heavy admin, typing, calendaring, drafting letters and client contact).

Full Time, Family Law Paralegal - (min. 5 yrs. NY/NJ Family Law exp. CIS, motions, drafting letters, interrogatories, discovery, motions, client and court contact, etc.).

Full-Time Jr. Associate (min. 3 years exp. with NJ Family & Criminal Law. Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and Admission to NJ & NY State Bars req'd)

JOB Responsibilities & Requirements:

Paralegal or Legal Assistant $50k -$60K

• Client Intake

• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.

• Manage 2 attorney calendars, confirming and coordinating court appearances, meetings, etc.

• Assist with court filings, motions, and court documents.

• Make copies, scan, type, and create files.

• Min. 2 yrs. experience at a NJ Law firm.

• 2+ years Microsoft Office Suite experience (Required)

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• Ability to multi-task in a busy environment.

• Organized, with strong administrative background.

Preferred Skills (but not required):

• Bi-Lingual (Spanish Speaking)

• Associate's Degree

• Paralegal Certificate

• NY/NJ Family and Criminal law experience

Family Law Paralegal $55k-$65k

• Draft motions, case information statements, pleadings, and various correspondence.

• Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.

• Multi-task in a busy environment.

• Organized, with an ability to prioritize workload.

• Min. 5 yrs. Experience at a NJ Law firm.

• 4+ years of Microsoft Office Suite experience (Required)

• Excellent written and verbal communication

Preferred Skills (but not required):

Associate's Degree

NY/NJ Criminal law experience

Jr. Associate $70-$90k

Responsibilities

Legal Representation: Represent clients in family law matters including Child Custody, Child Support, Divorce, Domestic Violence, Parental Relocation, Prenuptial Agreements, Property Settlements, Spousal Support/Alimony, Visitation, Post-Judgment litigation, and Criminal defense matters including DUI, Traffic violations, Drug charges, violent crimes, White collar crimes, Probation and Parole violations, Juvenile crimes, and other State and Federal charges.

Client Counseling & Case Management: Manage caseloads, draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, appeals, prepare discovery/arbitration/mediation/trial packages, releases and other settlement documents . Conduct legal research, depositions, and prepare for court appearances.

Negotiation: Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients through mediation and settlement conferences to achieve favorable outcomes. Communicate with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.

Legal Research: Stay current with NY and NJ family law changes, criminal statutes, and precedents, and conduct legal research to support case strategy.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with ethical standards and all relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

· Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

· Admission to the New Jersey and New York State Bars.

· Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing family and criminal law.

· Strong research and analytical skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Proficiency in legal research and a commitment to client confidentiality.

· Meet deadlines, prioritize workload, and possess a strong sense of urgency.

· Ability to commute to Hackensack, NJ.

Spanish speaking a plus
