While reporting to the General Counsel, the Corporate Paralegal will have the unique experience to touch upon many different areas of law: contract creation/review, employment, employee safety, IP, collections/liens, litigation, insurance/claims, and risk management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Researching and analyzing law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes.
• Editing drafted communications, policies, processes, etc.
• Collecting and preparing responses to requests for production and interrogatories.
• Interviewing and following up with internal employees, especially regarding reporting on risk (work comp/auto accident).
• Preparing legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, initial and amended articles of incorporation, stock certificates and other securities, buy-sell agreements, closing papers and binders, deeds, and trust instruments for review, approval, and use by VP, general counsel, etc.
• Investigating facts and law of case to determine causes of action and to prepare case accordingly.
• Performing other clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, providing information to callers, taking dictation, composing and typing routine correspondence, and reading and routing incoming mail, administrative data keeping, etc.
• Preparing affidavits of documents and maintaining document file(s) while ensuring proper indexing and filing of original legal documents.
• Electronically file correspondence and legal documents using SmartSheet/office system.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years as a Corporate Paralegal
• Currently pursuing a degree in the field of law or similar.
• GPA 3.0 or higher.

Preferred Qualifications

• Related experience.

Compensation: $23/hour

Schedule

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 hours daily, between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team member is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The Team member is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and climb stairs, or balance.
