BronxWorks helps individuals and families improve their economic and social well-being. From toddlers to seniors, we feed, shelter, teach, and support our neighbors to build a stronger community. BronxWorks is hiring 6 Outreach Specialists for the Access to Benefits Program

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Survey takers will go out and survey the appropriate clients in various Bronx Developments to collect the needed information.
  • Survey takers will fill out the information form developed by BronxWorks with the use of a laptop or cellphone for response documentation.
  • In some instances, interview targeted population in persons, through phone, or via in person workshops that will be scheduled · Direct updates and changes in survey information
  • Assist Program coordinator with onsite preparations for workshops
  • All other duties as assigned by coordinator


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience in the non-profit sector
  • Familiarity with our benefits access program
  • Strong communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills,
  • The ability to use the relevant software,
  • Listening skills, and a high degree of accuracy.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
  • Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
  • Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
