Requisition No: 815971Agency: Department of HealthWorking Title: OPS HEALTH SUPPORT TECHNICIAN - 64942294Pay Plan: TempPosition Number: 64942294Salary: $15.75- $17.00Posting Closing Date: 11/29/2023Total Compensation Estimator ToolFLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH - OPEN COMPETITIVE OPPORTUNITYYour Specific Responsibilities:* Assists in distributing required consents and information to clients, assists clients with paperwork and assures they are correctly completed. Assist the staff with data entry in Florida Shots and HMS when on outreaches or on the Mobile Health Unit.* Interviews client to obtain general, sexual health history, including primary complaint, history of present illness, review of social history as to activities with sexual partners and past or pertinent illnesses including allergies and nutritional status and records relevant information in medical record pertaining to reason for visit and history information. Performs vital signs,( Blood Pressure, Temperature, pulse, height and weight).

Opens visit in EMR and assures entries in medical record are accurate, legible and in timely sequence.* Performs limited laboratory tests. i.e. urine dip, pregnancy test, Rapid Syphilis and Rapid HIV.

Performs venipuncture and obtains specimens for HIV, RPR with reflex, Rubella, Hepatitis chronic screen and HSV IGG in correct tubes. Performs HIV/AIDs pre and post counseling. Completes and performs Quality Control Test and logs results for pregnancy tests, Rapid Syphilis and urinalysis tests as indicated.* Maintains universal precautions with all body fluids contacts and ensures lab area is organized, clean and infection control standards are maintained.* Prepares client for examination assuring necessary supplies are available.

Prepares exam room with equipment needed for special procedures, i.e. IUD insertions, colposcopy, EMB, and assists provider with the procedures and/or examinations.* Assures proper handling of specimens received from provider including correct client identification on specimen and lab requisition, recording specimen in log record, sending specimen to correct lab. Prepares specimens for transfer to appropriate laboratories.

Assures lab requisitions entered with correct codes in HMS. Prepares hazardous waste boxes for use and proper disposal.* Washes instruments, packages them as indicated and operates autoclave. Assures that items are properly stored after autoclaving and items date sensitive are reprocessed as indicated.* Monitors inventory of supplies on Mobile Health Unit.

Coordinates with Community Health Administrative Assistant to order supplies as needed. Assures all clinics areas are well-stocked with correct supplies at all times, storing supplies in proper areas. Reports low supplies to supervisor for outside orders.* Assists staff and Provider in educational activities.

Assures adequate stock of client handouts are available.* Maintains and improves knowledge and skills through attending staff meetings, seminars and Continuing Education programs as needed to position.* Maintains EAR data and Time Sheet with regular and accurate entries in timely manner and within required time frames* Maybe asked to function in different clinics in the main building of the health department.* Subject to emergency duty in the event of a natural disaster* Completion of all mandatory or assigned trainings within the required timeframe* Performs other related duties as requested.* Is expected to be available for all outreaches Monday through Friday ans some Saturdays. Times will fluctuate depending on the outreach, maybe early in the AM or late into the PM.
