Provides logistics and tier 1 services, which include receiving, imaging, configuration, installation and disposal of computing devices and peripherals. Additional duties may include field support for technology upgrades or relocation projects.
Position duties include working within clinical, research, educational and administrative facilities. This position requires handling large quantities of computer equipment, using installation tools and having the ability to work under and around furniture. Will be expected to effectively utilize IT assets and imaging and service management applications and follow standard operating procedures after completing an orientation and training period.
The majority of this job is expected to be within standard business hours, but some projects may require shifting of schedules to night or weekend work. Sufficient prior notice will be provided so that staff can make arrangements, as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma and minimum of one year of technical desktop systems support or other relevant experience.
- Candidates who possess an associate's degree in computer science, or related field(s), but possess no relevant work experience will be considered.
- Candidates with no formal work experience, yet who demonstrate and can articulate a thorough understanding of PC support (to include a working knowledge of desktop hardware, the MS Windows operating systems, basic diagnostic and installation skills for common hardware, operating system or network operations) will also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- CompTIA certification or equivalent is preferred.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:
- Employees in this position will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a "non-frequent driver."
