LOCATION: Sacramento, CA
This is an exciting opportunity for an Operations and Warehouse Manager with a background in supply chain management, logistics, and retail operations, eager to lead and drive efficiency across multiple locations. We are a Sacramento based sewing machine retail company with dedication to serving Sacramento's sewing and craft community. This position requires experience in warehouse logistics and operational management with a proven track record of optimizing supply chain processes, implementing efficient inventory control systems, and leading teams to ensure seamless and productive warehouse operations.
JOB DUTIES1. Operations Oversight:
- Take a comprehensive approach to overseeing all warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management across multiple locations, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Oversee building maintenance for all 4 retail stores, coordinating with store managers to address maintenance needs and managing external contractors as necessary.
- Ensure a seamless and interconnected workflow that maximizes efficiency throughout the supply chain and retail operations.
2. Leadership:
- Lead and inspire warehouse and retail staff, fostering a culture of efficiency, accuracy, and teamwork.
- Implement training programs to enhance employee skill sets, acknowledging that sometimes it's managing, and sometimes it's doing.
- Demonstrate a lead-by-example mentality in both warehouse and store operations, actively participating in tasks, and contributing directly to the efficiency of day-to-day operations.
3. Process Optimization:
- Spearhead the implementation and continuous improvement of warehouse and store processes, acknowledging the critical nature of moving products and maintaining store facilities.
- Embrace a hands-on leadership style by actively engaging in day-to-day operations when necessary, setting an example for the team in adapting to challenges and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
4. Strategic Coordination:
- Collaborate closely with suppliers and logistics partners to orchestrate inbound and outbound shipments seamlessly.
- Implement strategic coordination to optimize transportation, reduce lead times, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
- Extend coordination efforts to oversee building maintenance and operations for retail stores.
5. Proactive Inventory Management:
- Employ advanced inventory management strategies to monitor and control stock levels across warehouses and retail locations.
- Work closely with internal staff to develop and implement proactive measures to minimize stockouts and overstocks, ensuring optimal inventory turnover rates.
6. Safety, Organization, and Building Maintenance:
- Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations within the warehouse environment and retail stores.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained warehouse facility and retail stores to uphold safety standards and enhance overall operational efficiency.
- Manage relationships with outside contractors for building maintenance and repair work, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years of successful experience in warehouse management and/or operations management, demonstrating a track record of efficient operations and successful team leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and implement strategic plans for optimizing warehouse processes.
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a warehouse team effectively.
- Proficient in the use of inventory management software and systems.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Ability to adapt to the dynamic nature of a small business, being flexible in approach and embracing challenges.
- Willingness to lead by example, actively participating in tasks when necessary, and demonstrating a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Possess a strong work ethic, with the determination to do whatever it takes to ensure successful and timely completion of tasks.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe warehouse environment, adhering to safety regulations, and promoting a culture of workplace safety.
