Summary of Position
The Operations Manager is accountable for the oversight of safe, efficient, effective execution of all warehouse operations. Oversight of warehouse leadership ensuring support, empowering the warehouse team while demonstrating and modeling behavior consistent with Fortune Fish company core values. Verifying warehouse communications and coordination with human resources, operations leadership, sales, purchasing and transportation to address and contribute to solutions is essential.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leadership is centered in operations and is expected to work on the floor as needed. This may include nights/weekends.
- Manage standard operational procedures for incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of products, and appropriately rotating product inventory.
- Partners with HR to ensure staffing aligns with volume and productivity metrics, including hiring, training, coaching, and problem solving.
- Available as resource and mentor to warehouse leadership and team members.
- Ensure Leader Standard work is completed and monitor to ensure shift execution and information for work in progress flows between shifts.
- Enables communication flow to ensure senior leaders are updated on pain-points/success stories regarding KPI’s, staffing needs, performance, interdepartmental or company concerns.
- Provides oversite for safety, quality, efficiency expectations and ensures leadership is soliciting team member feedback for improvements and documenting departmental KPI’s.
- Coach warehouse leadership as needed, partnering with Human Resources, Peers and Senior leadership with implementing PIP (Performance Improvement Plans) for team members/ team leads as needed.
- Monitor location control initiatives on a daily, weekly, and period end cycle.
- Execution of Warehouse Data collection & KPI Data recording.
- Sets a high standard for personal and warehouse leadership professionalism.
- Monitors/Creates Job Instructions and Safety Guidelines the use of consistent use of and other tools to ensure team members are trained and expectations are clear.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience – 3-5 years of related experience in food production. Seafood experience preferred.
- Education – High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Work ethic – A sense of urgency in meeting critical and time sensitive deadlines.
- Accuracy – Demonstrated ability to accurately pack product in a timely fashion.
- Language – English speaking and written proficiency.
- Mathematical – Ability to perform basic arithmetic tasks – adding, subtracting, dividing, and multiplying.
- Environmental: Willingness to work in a cold climate of 35º - COLD Storage.
