Job Title: Operations Manager - Cement
Brief Description: The Operations Manager - Cement will be responsible for complete ownership of all facets of cementing operations and business, including profit and loss accountability, overseeing departmental operations, managing drivers' schedules, investigating incidents, overseeing job pricing and paperwork, monitoring quality, safety and environmental levels, and providing related services to customers. This will also include developing cost-effective operations, managing company-owned property and equipment and ensuring proper procedures and required regulations are followed. This position will work under the direction of Director of Regional Operations - Cement.
Detailed Description: Oversee all operations in the field and promote safety as our number one goal Promote UPP Team mentality, work with peers to resolve company related issues and needs Interpret and implement operational policies and practices Determine equipment and supply needs as well as investigate equipment problems and recommends appropriate solutions Promptly address and resolve concerns and disputes among team members, with the goal of building a stronger, more cohesive work group Enhance customer relations and tend to their needs Track all equipment for the assigned district Perform monthly and periodic audits Address Health, Safety, & Environmental issues as necessary Continuously engage and train Field Supervisors and Service Supervisors Maintain records of all monthly expenditures, compose monthly statements, and manage local budget issues Provide regular (weekly/monthly) reports to Senior Management or Director of Regional Operations - Cement on work status and/or upcoming events Represent the Company and our values with integrity while maintaining the highest ethical and legal standards with all customer interactions Demonstrate financial responsibility in adherence to the Company's travel and entertainment policy Make employment decisions in a manner consistent with all Company policies, including the Company's Equal Employment Opportunity and Anti-Harassment Policy Promptly address and resolve concerns and disputes among team members, with the goal of building a stronger, more cohesive work group Represent the Company and our values with integrity while maintaining the highest ethical and legal standards with all interactions Adhere to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Perform other related duties as assigned Operations Manager
Job Requirements: Proven ability to lead and train the work of others and document training provided Ability to demonstrate safe work habits and work well with others and audit compliance Proficient in the use of computers and applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) as well as other software applications to drive efficiency in productivity Able to work closely with others in the confined area of the job, in a fast-paced team environment, and work independently when required or directed, taking initiative when necessary Demonstrate well-developed customer service skills and strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle difficult situations Willing and able to work a possible 24-hour shift that can include days or nights, as well as weekends and holidays, and must stay alert and focused during the shift while performing repetitive and routine activities Able to perform simple mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, division and multiplication) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, to make job related calculations; basic computer skills are necessary Demonstrate clear communication skills including ability to read, write and speak English, and to promptly follow verbal and written directions in English Requires bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, and crawling on uneven surfaces, and climbing equipment ladders or stairs throughout the work shift Ability to travel as needed to other offices and work sites, occasionally requiring extended travel to remote locations and/or overnight stay(s) outside normal office area

Working Conditions: The Operations Manager - Cement must work with an emphasis on individual safety and safety for others, including coworkers and third parties. This position includes working outdoors for long periods of time in all types of weather conditions typical of the area where the job is located, including dust, humidity, sleet, snow, rain, mud, cold, heat, wind, and other inclement weather. Working conditions for this position may involve exposure to varying outdoor conditions, including environmental chemicals, gases, noise, dampness, fumes, radiation, and heights.
