Job Description
Summary/Objective: The Operations Director will be a key leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations. This role involves optimizing processes, managing production, ensuring quality standards, and fostering a collaborative work environment to achieve operational goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align production goals with customer demands and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including lean methodologies, to streamline processes and reduce waste.
- Establish and maintain safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and fostering a culture of safety awareness.
- Manage and develop a team of supervisors, coordinators, and operators, providing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Oversee production schedules, resource allocation, and capacity planning to optimize workflow and meet delivery deadlines.
- Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and facilities, coordinating with maintenance teams as needed.
- Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
- Lead and participate in regular operational meetings to communicate goals, progress, and address any challenges.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management, summarizing operational performance and suggesting improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated success in process optimization and implementing lean methodologies.
- Strong understanding of quality control and compliance with industry standards.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in data analysis and using insights for strategic decision-making.
