Position Summary:

Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing commercialization activities, monitoring reports and executing critical processes to manage inventory, reduce costs, resolve service-related issues, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet customer objectives while ensuring established processes are followed.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage Commercialization Process:   Manage and guide commercialization projects within the manufacturing plant, ensuring that all necessary requirements, including new ingredients, packaging materials, equipment installation, and operational requirements are in place to support target launch date.  Key point of contact for the HQ Project Coordination team on all Commercialization Activities.  Facilitate all required follow up at the plant, and represent the plant team as needed on commercialization calls.  
  • Facilitate Resolution to Service-Related Issues: Act as key point of contact between Customer Solutions and Plant team to address issues related to processing of backorders, incorrect/damaged product receipt, changes to order quantities, requests for rush ship dates or pick up date changes.
  • Manage Product Discontinuations: Monitor systems & reports for product discontinuations, coordinate process to put finished goods and raw materials on hold, manage chargebacks, and clear inventory.
  • Manage At Risk Inventory:  Monitor inventory reports to identify inventory at risk or past shippable shelf life.  Coordinate with Commercial to identify upcoming orders where product can be shipped, coordinate variances to ship, and coordinate disposal process for dead inventory: ensuring product is held, disposed, and written off.  
  • Mitigate Order Fulfillment Process:  Review daily reports to identify shorts, understand root cause/reason, coordinate with Planning & Production to document updated production and available ship dates.  
  • Coordinate Product Returns:  Facilitate Return Product Authorization process/customer returns and invoice reconciliation making sure it is correct & distribution is aware and QA is reviewing it quickly before it ages out.
  • Manage formula or packaging changes:  coordinate with task owners to ensure timely implementation of requested changes.
Education and Experience:
  • 3+ years experience in the consumer products/food sectors with commercialization, supply chain, project management, or plant experience.  
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering preferred and/or equivalent years of CPG experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of supply chain and manufacturing processes and plant operations.
  • Data import and analysis through MS Office Tools (Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Project); JDE, AS400, and SharePoint proficiency higly desired.
  • Demonstrated strong collaborative skills in working with people across functions and levels.
  • Analytical problem solving required for troubleshooting and resolving issues quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                
  • Solid organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.  

 

Physical Demands:

Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.  Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform the required task(s). Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance.  Additional demands may be required.

 

Work Environment:

In addition to normal business hours, work schedules may include after hours and weekends as needed.  May work outside and in adverse temperatures which include extreme hot, cold, and humidity.  May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.  Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards.  May require work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet for prolonged periods of time.
