Operations Accounting Analyst

Reports to: Operations Accounting Manager
Job Summary/ Objective:
This role's purpose is to support Finance, Research Sites, and Contracts while executing study financial requirements including study setup in CTMS, study billing/invoicing, cash application, and investigator payments.
Essential Functions:
- Understand study contracts in terms of billable items, keeping abreast of new contracts and contract amendments (change orders).
- Structure new studies within the CTMS to facilitate study sponsor billings, patient stipends, physician payments.
- Work cohesively with all counterparts to understand study nuances as finances are impacted and to ensure study budgets are properly structured.
- Prepare invoices using the CTMS for invoiceable items and record said invoices in the company’s financial system.
- Apply cash receipts against unbilled and invoiced study subject visits and procedures; work with customers to resolve payment discrepancies.
- Keep abreast of customer outstanding balances due, following up on aged items and escalating as necessary.
- Other special projects and analyses as requested.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement.
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Education: Degree in business or accounting preferred or equivalent related work experience
- Licensure and/or Certification: n/a
- Experience: Bookkeeping/accounting; CTMS (CRIO preferred) background a plus
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Detailed oriented and a strong work ethic; clinical research experience is helpful but not required
- Required: QuickBooks Online and Basic to Intermediate Excel

Working Conditions/ Physical Demands:
Standard operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. May be required to complete job-related tasks outside of that time frame in excess of a standard 40-hour work week. Requires prolonged walking, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. This position is remote.
