Overview:
This position functions as a point of contact for mail room operations as well facilities maintenance. It includes but is not limited to the processing of internal and external mail, facilitating the shipments to external conferences and meetings, maintaining, and ordering the inventory of office supplies, and liaising with building management on facilities related issues. It provides assistance with various projects including the packaging of meeting and conference materials for shipment. When necessary, it handles packages weighing 50-60 pounds, and moves items such as furniture and equipment, from one room to another.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with mail operations including opening, sorting, and delivery of incoming mail and express packages. Assembles large mailings and packs large shipments. Posts outgoing mail and delivers carrier packages to pick up point.
- Distributes interoffice mail and deliveries.
- Performs a stock inventory of office supplies and maintains the orderliness of supply room.
- Facilities the routine ordering of primary office items such as paper, pens, kitchen items and other office supplies.
- Transfers materials to and from the AACR storage areas, including large boxes, furniture and equipment.
- Performs out of office errands as required (i.e. messenger or courier, delivery person).
- Assists with monitoring of equipment for service, supplies and/or repair.
- Assists in troubleshooting equipment failures and acts as liaison between copier and postage meter repair personnel (does not include sales personnel) and Office Operations.
- Performs other duties as dictated by the unit’s daily workload, and as required by the supervisor.
- Interacts with building management personnel for routine facilities maintenance issues such as light replacements or window leaks.
- Maintains an organization listing of occupied and available office and workstations including ordering of name tags.
Qualifications:Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail; accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to interact with repair and service vendors, including following phone instructions from technical support representatives while troubleshooting equipment problems.
- Ability to handle packages weighing 50-60 lbs.
- Ability to move furniture and equipment, as required
- Ability to work with little supervision, alone or as part of a team

- A High School Diploma, some college preferred

Technical Competencies & Special Skills:*
- Light typing and data entry skills
- Operating knowledge of Federal Express, UPS and mail meter machines
- Knowledge of office equipment and the ability to troubleshoot
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $47,756.00 - $52,366.00 per year
