Office Assistant - Curriculum
Schedule: Full-Time, M-F regular business hours
Location: Beaverton, OR (On Site)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Reports To: Curriculum Manager
Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Position Overview
The Curriculum Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Curriculum department, which is the team responsible for developing evidence-based curricular materials for Educators and students with autism in classrooms around the world.
Under the direction of the Curriculum Manager, this position will assist in the development and improvement of educational materials and the implementation of department systems to ensure the best learning outcomes for the students we serve. They will work collaboratively with various teams to maintain current systems and ensure deadlines are met so that SAS customers continue to receive high quality products and services that are in line with SAS organizational values. The ideal candidate will have experience in administrative functions and an interest in the special education industry.
The Position: What you’ll do
- Responsible for supporting the Curriculum department by providing administrative, clerical, and technology support.
- Participate in researching, developing, and updating educational materials in line with set departmental standards and timelines.
- Implement and monitor department systems and processes such as file organization and spreadsheet maintenance.
- Assisting with the collection and summarization of data and maintenance and updating of existing database tools.
- Provide administrative support to the customer feedback focus group including preparing meeting materials, tracking attendance, summarizing feedback, capturing contact information, and coordinating with office staff to prepare, ship, and track focus group materials.
- Print hard copies of content and proofread for visual, spelling, and grammatical errors.
- Support curriculum development efforts by preparing art projects, science projects, and participating in filming projects (including being filmed for content creation on occasion).
- Coordinate organization of the Digital Asset Management System by categorizing and tagging images, providing troubleshooting support to other users, and keeping the digital workspaces organized.
- Coordinate Spanish translation of materials by communicating with translators, facilitating file transfers, and conducting basic proofreading of translated files.
- Contribute to special curriculum development projects as assigned by leadership.
- Serve as backup support for other teams at STAR such as Digital Content, Editing, and Office teams.
- Collaborate with the Creative Team by developing, posting, and answering team questions about the illustration list
