University Home Care is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office Administrative Assistant to join our team in Livonia, Michigan. This individual will be responsible for providing administrative support to our team in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have previous administrative experience and a strong understanding of healthcare and medical terminology. This is a full-time, hourly position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly pay ranging from $17 to $23, paid weekly
- Holidays paid
Responsibilities:
- Answer and direct phone calls in a professional and courteous manner
- Greet and assist patients and visitors in person
- Maintain and update patient records in a timely and accurate manner
- Schedule appointments and manage calendars for healthcare staff
- Prepare, organize, and file documents and reports
- Assist with billing processes, insurance claims, and payment collections
- Order and maintain office supplies and equipment
- Respond to inquiries and requests from patients, healthcare staff, and other administrative personnel
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and excellent patient care
- Other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, some college or post-secondary education (Not required)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an administrative role, preferably in a healthcare or medical setting
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
