Overview:
Summary: The Occupational Therapy Manager is responsible for the operational, clinical and educational functions in Occupational Therapy. Activities include hiring, firing, supervising and evaluating clinical staff, program development, facilitating system changes and the growth and development of staff. Responsible for the development and review of policies and procedures and maintaining assigned capital and operating budgets. Demonstrates a commitment to a patient and family focused model of care and promotes hospital mission, values and service standards. Titles and Number of Employees Supervised: Occupational Therapists (OT) I, II, III, IV. OT Assistants I, II. OT I and OT II Per Diem, PT/OT Aides. Equipment/Machines Used: Computer, telephone, facsimile, printer, photocopier, KIDS Patient Access System, HBOC STAR system, Hiring Manager, Kaufman Hall, Peoplesoft, Manager Desktop, iReport, CHEX. Working Conditions/Physical Demands: Moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 35 lbs).Subject to long work hours. Extensive sitting and computer use. Lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching. May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases. Handles emergency or crisis situations.

Minimum Experience Required:
5+ years of clinical experience in discipline. Previous management experience preferred.

Minimum Education/Training Required:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school in Occupational Therapy. Masters degree preferred.

License, Registration or Certification Required:
California Board of Occupational Therapy license. American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider CPR Certification.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Excellent ability to deal effectively with the public. Strong knowledge of computers. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Pay Scale Information: CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
