Occupational Therapist - Part-Time

Position Summary:

• Provide services to students with exceptional educational needs
• Improve, develop, restore or maintain students' active participation in self-maintenance, work, leisure, and play in educational environments
• Function as "Related Service Provider" under State and Federal Law

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Current Certification from the National Board in Occupational Therapy
• Licensed to practice occupational therapy in Connecticut
• Prior experience in school setting

Essential Job Functions:

• Conduct appropriate evaluations of students referred and prepare written reports of the evaluations and findings
• Participate in meetings as member of the multidisciplinary team
• Participate in development of IEP's for students with exceptional educational needs
• Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy in educational settings
• Collaborate with other school personnel regarding occupational therapy and students' needs
• Travel to and among schools to provide services
• Maintain record of service provided including Medicaid reimbursement forms
• Lift, transfer and position students and equipment as necessary to provide occupational therapy
• Supervise licensed occupational therapy assistants
• Manage resources including appropriate assessments materials, ordering and maintaining treatment supplies and equipment
• Conduct inservice and training
• Participate in Leadership Team meetings
