Occupational Therapist - Part-Time
Position Summary:
- Provide services to students with exceptional educational needs
- Improve, develop, restore or maintain students' active participation in self-maintenance, work, leisure, and play in educational environments
- Function as "Related Service Provider" under State and Federal Law
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current Certification from the National Board in Occupational Therapy
- Licensed to practice occupational therapy in Connecticut
- Prior experience in school setting
Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct appropriate evaluations of students referred and prepare written reports of the evaluations and findings
- Participate in meetings as member of the multidisciplinary team
- Participate in development of IEP's for students with exceptional educational needs
- Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy in educational settings
- Collaborate with other school personnel regarding occupational therapy and students' needs
- Travel to and among schools to provide services
- Maintain record of service provided including Medicaid reimbursement forms
- Lift, transfer and position students and equipment as necessary to provide occupational therapy
- Supervise licensed occupational therapy assistants
- Manage resources including appropriate assessments materials, ordering and maintaining treatment supplies and equipment
- Conduct inservice and training
- Participate in Leadership Team meetings
