The Tahoma School District in Maple Valley, WA, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team! This is a flexible opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students, either working onsite at our schools or virtually.
What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other therapists to develop and implement individualized occupational therapy plans for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade.
- Conduct screenings and evaluations to identify students with occupational therapy needs.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to support students in areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and classroom participation.
- Document student progress and collaborate with families to ensure ongoing support.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as needed.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Holds a valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Washington.
- Possesses a strong understanding of child development and occupational therapy practices in a school setting.
- Demonstrates excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Has a passion for working with children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds.
- Enjoys a fast-paced environment and thrives on creative problem-solving.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment:
- You can choose to work onsite at our schools or virtually, depending on your preference.
- Flexible schedule: 8:15 am - 3:45 pm (7-hour day with a 30-minute duty-free lunch).
- Start date: ASAP
- End date: June 21, 2024
