Education/Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or above from an accredited school.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Competent in a variety of diagnostic and treatment techniques
Recognizes needs and behaviors of specific age groups of patients treated
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases
Direct contact with body fluids
Pushing, pulling, lifting, and transferring patients
Ability to assist, escort, transfer, and respond to patient needs for extended periods of time
May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays (Full time/part time staff coming on board at Advocate Sherman Hospital have the minimum requirement of working one weekend shift per month and one holiday per year in the inpatient setting.
Associates hired specifically for the outpatient setting must be available to work until 7:00 p.m. two evenings per week in adjunct to the inpatient rehab requirement aforementioned).
