Job Description
The Accounts Receivable Specialist ensures that Adelante Mujeres' revenue is properly recorded and manages Accounts Receivable for the Organization. The Accounts Receivable Specialist helps prepare financial grant reports under the guidance and direction of the Accounting Manager. The role has the potential to evolve as the team grows. The Accounts Receivable Specialist reports to the Accounting Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Record all incoming payments including contributions, grants, and program services into the organization's accounting software.
- Read and analyze contracts and grant awards in relation to revenue recognition.
- Track and audit revenue received and follow up as needed.
- Maintain a schedule of upcoming invoices and follow up with funders or programs and communicate with the Development department staff on overdue receivables.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial grant reports.

- Ability to develop good working relationships with a wide range of people, including excellent verbal and written communication
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 4 years of professional experience, of which at least 2 years performing accounting functions
- Experience working with accounting software and strong MS Office skills, especially Excel
- Committed to education, social justice, women's empowerment and the environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting or strongly related field
- Highly organized and detail oriented with good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively within deadline-driven environment and be flexible to the changing needs of the team and organization
- Ability to balance attention to detail with big picture thinking
- Knowledge of and experience applying GAAP in organizational settings and fund accounting, familiarity with federal grants and Uniform Guidance preferred
- Bilingual-Bicultural English/Spanish

- Ability to travel out of town to attend workshops or trainings
SALARY & BENEFITS
- Salary Range: $52-$55K annually, depending on qualifications
- Classification: Full Time, exempt
- Telework: up to 4 days a week
