We are seeking a talented and driven Medical Biller/Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our thriving clinic as a key member of our team. In this position, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including insurance verifications, transferring patient and insurance information, and initiating payment processes and procedures. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in billing software, medical insurance regulations, and an expert at responding to patient and insurance inquiries, confirming patient benefits, and following all regulations and guidelines set by Medicare, state programs, and HMO/PPO.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer and insurance payments and transactions related to Accounts Receivable.
- Applies explanation of payments and electronic remittance advices for numerous insurance companies.
- Properly code office visits and surgeries.
- Researches and resolves denials and EOB rejections within standard billing cycle timeframe.
- Corrects and resubmits claims denied by insurance companies.
- Handles insurance billing problems of patients including contacting insurance companies and/or patient; assists the reception staff with insurance questions.
- Prepares and submits billing data and medical claims to insurance companies.
- Collects and records late payments.
- Follows up on missed payments and resolves financial discrepancies.
- Examines patients’ bills for accuracy and requests any missing information.
- Prepare daily deposits of cash and check from both patients and insurance companies.
- Answer a high number of patient telephone inquiries regarding their bills and insurance.
Experience and Skills:
REQUIRED for the position:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- 1 year experience in Medical Billing
- 1 year experience in Medical Coding
- Communication/public relations skills and flexible who relates well with others in a professional and pleasant manner
- Positive attitude
DESIRED for the position:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2 years+ Medical Billing related work experience
- At least 1 year in aesthetics preferred (Medi Spa or Plastic Surgery a major plus)
- Previous experience using EMR systems
- Proficiency in basic medical terminology
- Knowledge of medical records confidentiality (HIPPA Compliance)

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
