The Security Guard has the Ability to implement all plans formulated by the Security / Emergency Services Shift Supervisor and Security / Emergency Services Manager. Highly organized, Ability to handle multiple tasks at once, calm communicator in emergency situations, detail oriented, ability to handle multi-phone and communications equipment, ability to work in an environment with little mobility. Computer and typing skills required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Monitoring of all pull cords for independent living. Track status of resident involved in situation.
- Monitor Fire Alarm System
- Receive emergency calls from residents and staff and dispatch appropriate personnel
- Dispatch Security and EMS on calls for service
- Dispatch ambulance, private ambulances or 911 as needed
- Page On-call physician as needed
- Assist Security personnel with room checks on a daily basis and in other areas as needed
- Log residents who are transported to the hospital in the Census book
- Log residents who return home from the hospital in the Census book
- Log residents who inform us that they will be away in the away book
- Update Employee listing both alphabetically and departmentally
- Update Resident listing both alphabetically and by apartment
- Make resident badges
- Page maintenance when needed
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Good organizational skills with attention to detail. Must be computer literate. Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously. Ability to work in a team atmosphere to accomplish results.
High school diploma or GED required. One-year minimum experience in dispatching, two years preferred. First aid and CPR certification preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Security experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
English: highly proficient in both spoken and written English
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
CPR and EMT Certification or willingness to get.
