The Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling all hotel cashier transactions; reviewing, organizing and compiling management reports on a timely basis and ensuring the accuracy of guest billings and city ledger transactions. He/she is also responsible for effectively communicating concerns and/or related issues to all levels of management and performing guest service agent duties as required, including check-in, check-out, switchboard operation and reservations.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in within customer service. Hotel experience preferred.
- Speak clearly and listen carefully.
- Use personal judgement and specialized knowledge to give information to people.
- Communicate well with many different kinds of people.
- Change easily and frequently from one activity to another, such as typing to customer service, to searching in a directory, to using a telephone.
- Use eyes, hands and fingers while operating a switchboard or computer keyboard.
Reasoning Development
Moderate. Must be able to apply principals of logical thinking to a variety of practical situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may occasionally call for minor deviations. Ability to think rationally beyond a specific set of instructions.
Mathematical Development
General Math: Practical application of fractions, percentages, ration and proportion, mensuration, and practical algebra.
Language Development
Reading: Ability to read reports, documents, policies, and forms pertaining to the job.
Speaking: Ability to speak on a variety of subjects relating to the job.
Physical Demands
- Lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently and frequently moving small objects
