POSITION OVERVIEW
Alliance Automation has an immediate opening for a Sr New Product Development Controls Engineer at our rapidly growing business in Van Wert, Ohio. The ideal candidate for this role must possess strong communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to details, decision making skills, ability to multitask and work with others. A high level of creativity, ability to exercise independent judgment, and general business understanding is required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
- Adheres to Alliance Automation, RIA, NEC, and OSHA standards
- Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical theory and principles, statutory codes, and equipment requirements
- Must be able to manage projects, timelines and project budgets
- Support Product Development thru all stages to be production ready
- Support creation and changes to product manuals and supporting media
- Review service calls, warranty costs, and quality issues
- Verification and validation of designs using SPC, Gage R&R, FMEA, FEA, and Life cycle testing practices
- Provide Programming, Commissioning, and debug guidance to junior engineers
- Travel with equipment to customer sites for installation and training
- Conduct risk assessments
- Evaluation of machinery for cost reduction projects and new technologies
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Minimum of 10 years of automation equipment experience
- Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
- Experience with Fanuc or Yaskawa robotic platforms
- Design system architecture for machine control systems, including electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics and network diagrams
- Interface Controls Architecture with M.E.S. Systems
- Be considered an expert at using any platform of Automation and logic controllers.
- Be considered an expert at selecting, developing, and implementing vision systems
- Be considered an expert in multiple robot platforms
Desired skills are a plus:
- Experience with any of the following: Rockwell, Omron, Mitsubishi, and Siemens
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and Vision Systems
- WMS integration
- Software design
- AGV/AMR integration
- AI programming
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field of study or equivalent work experience
