Position Summary:

Join CVS Health as an Application Development Manager. As a manager, you will work with and lead both full-time employees and contracted resources to execute project work within the IT organization at CVS Health. You will deliver design, write new code, improve existing code, and ensure deployment of the IT Retail Applications, client integrations and SRE AI Ops applications, platforms for products across the next generation of AI Ops and SRE applications. You will ensure that project initiatives and guidelines meet both internal and client requirements and are delivered on-time.

You will foster an environment that empowers teams and facilitates the development of your team members, setting everyone up to deliver their best work.

You will communicate design approaches and work across teams to explore integration options. You will train new technology leaders and developers on best practices on building resilient applications.

Additional Responsibilities include:

  • Identify opportunities for technology improvements, improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness, and innovative solutions to help achieve business benefits through technology.
  • Collaborate with internal infrastructure teams to properly plan and sustain healthy well performing on premise software application environments.
  • Provide input to business management teams regarding improvement goals for business divisions or functions that can be achieved through technical solutions.
  • Coordinate with other cross functional leaders within the IT and business leaders to ensure holistic application solution designs to meet business needs.
  • Assist in Programs to ramp new teams into solution architecture.
  • Proactively work to reduce costs and improve productivity (continuous improvement).
  • Create, implement, and ensure measures for successful execution, including Solution development standards, policies, processes, procedures, and controls.
  • Ensure the team is diligent in creating thorough solution documentation that can be used as input into future development tasks and training.
  • Research existing technology solutions for appropriateness and reuse.
  • Lead diverse individuals in both business and technology through the product evaluation process.
  • Influence stakeholders across both business and technology.
  • Document process findings, risks, and recommendations.
  • Drive consensus and arbitrate business demands within architecture with the cooperation of business teams or partners.
  • Communicate technology opportunity, operational and structural problems through the combined lens of architecture, development, partner, and infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

  • Overall 10+ years of IT experience with strong Application Development or engineering experience in an Information Systems environment, as part of large teams undertaking and overseeing technical work and mentoring junior team members.
  • 7+ years of experience of strong Application Development or engineering background as Sr. Software Engineer / Architect / Consultant/ SRE Engineer.
  • 5+ years of experience working in mid-large onshore and offshore teams building applications or platforms as a part of SRE Teams or Application teams.
  • 3+ years of experience with front end, services, and API's building using technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, .Net, WCF, Python, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience with technologies in the back-end technologies such as Oracle, SQL, No SQL and should have experience in working with/managing huge volume of data.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with middleware / data integration pipelines / platforms.
  • Proficiency with Cloud Azure/GCP, Open Shift & Kubernetes, Docker/Containers would be a plus.
  • Experience with ELK / Kafka / Similar platforms would be a Plus.
  • Experience with DevSecOps tools like Jenkins, Maven, GIT, Checkmarx, Nexus, Ansible or ADO Board, Rally, etc.
  • Proficient with Agile methodology and automation mindset.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information systems or other Bachelor's Degree with comparable work experience.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$97,335.00 - $201,900.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
