Form of workKeenLogic is seeking to hire a Journeyman Computer Network Support Specialist for the Center of Disease Control. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience with IT Support and will be familiar with Mac, Windows 10/ Office 365. The candidate will understand fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures related to network administration, knowledge of network-related hardware and software and basic understanding of security issues and implications to network solutions. The client is currently looking to fill a third-shift position. This is a full-time position offering benefits, PTO, 401k, and Life Insurance.

- Monitors enterprise networks to ensure availability to all users
- Coordinate with multiple vendors/departments to procure network-related hardware, software, and services
- Investigates and resolves problems, inefficiencies, and performance issues
- Evaluates, tests, recommends, and implements specific network solutions
- Schedules and coordinates installation and maintenance of standard software/hardware on the network and ensures compatibility of all communications and computer hardware/software
- Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves problems of limited scope and complexity
- Alerts more experienced engineers of network failures and assists in performing corrective actions
- Employs a basic understanding of network administration as it relates to daily business operations
- Individuals understand their own area and can perform all facets of their role
- They have experience in most issues that may arise, although require guidance with new assignments or assignments outside normal scope of work
- They manage projects with oversight from their supervisor

- Working knowledge of BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, PPP, HDLC, Span-Tree, Multicast, TCP/IPv4, TCP/IPv6, NetBIOS, DHCP, DNS, HSRP, GLBP, SNMP, LAN/MAN/WAN technologies to include, T1, Fast Ethernet, GigE, 10Gb, 40Gb, Fiber Optics, T3, CSU/DSU, MPLS, Optical Carrier technology, SONET, ATM, ISDN
- Working knowledge of Cisco Routers, Cisco Switches, Cisco Firewall (FWSM, ASA), F5 Load Balancers, Proxy Servers, Probe Machines, Network Sniffer, Decode Sniffer Packets, Radius, TACACS+, QOS, VPN, Wireless, Cisco Prime
- Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Access, and Visio
- Excellent written and verbal skills
Nice to Have(s)
- Experience as a level 2 administrator in a NOC or SOC environment with experience in“break/fix” and issue resolution related to enterprise network connectivity and performance
- Familiar with Splunk dashboards and search language
