TITLE: Specialist, Content Rights Management
REPORTS TO: Director, Content Rights Management
DEPARTMENT: Finance
Overview
Responsible for ensuring a high standard of contract Rights Management for FTN OTA and FAST networks.
Responsibilities
Rights Management
- Assist in evaluating all Content Rights agreements.
- Record rights in tracking system (What’s ON Program) across all networks and platforms.
- Keep records of all signed agreements, amendments, rights, and cost adjustments.
- Communicate contract deals with internal teams to ensure delivery of content.
What’s ON (Wide Orbit Program)
- Gain a complete understating of What’s ON Program, formerly Wide Orbit Program (WOP) system to assist with all contract entry, metadata entry, and reporting.
- Create linear and non-linear contracts.
- Add titles and exploitation windows and rights to contracts.
- Create and maintain payout schedules and amortization for contracts.
- Create Series; create series prefix and default parameters.
- Create and manage Titles and Media (assign title codes and media house numbers).
- Create, run, and manage reports as needed.
FAST (Free Ad Supported Television) Content
- Take lead on contract, metadata and reporting needs for growing FAST networks business.
- Track FAST titles availability after each month’s schedule. Update and edit FAST avails list as needed.
- Prep titles for upload; add synopsis, ratings, genres, stars, directors, and metadata as new contracts close or as updates needed.
- Create and distribute an upload 30 - 60 days prior to the month that the content will go live.
- Create reports to be distributed to the internal teams monthly and on an as needed basis.
Work Environment
Hybrid role, working in office three days per week and working remotely two days per week. Normal work environment.
Requirements:Education & Experience
- Experience with Wide Orbit Program or another broadcast content management system preferred.
- Bachelor's degree and related experience preferred.
Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of Content Rights agreements, digital rights, and technology platforms.
- Knowledge of digital Rights Management systems.
- Excellent computer, spreadsheet, and database experience.
- Self-starter; detail oriented; excellent judgment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization.
