We are looking for a Network Engineer II to join our team. As a Network Engineer II, you will be responsible for implementing, and maintaining, our client's network infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of networking protocols, hardware, and software, as well as excellent troubleshooting skills. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
Responsibilities
Configure and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls (Vendors: Cisco, Meraki, Versa, Sophos, HP, and SonicWall).
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues, ensuring maximum uptime and minimal disruption. (Auvik, NPM, Ncentral, 1keyes, Cisco DNAC).
Collaborate with the architect team to gather requirements and design network solutions that meet customer needs.
Conduct regular network assessments and audits to ensure compliance with industry best practices and internal policies.
Provide technical support and guidance to the ServiceDesk/NOC and other IT staff.
Handle assigned customer tickets and project work in the expected timeframe.
Communicate ticket and project status with internal employees and customers.
Participate in on-call rotation schedule.
Possible 10-20% travel to client sites for project work and/or troubleshooting issues.
Requirements
Preferred bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Cisco certifications (CCENT, CCNA) or similar network certifications.
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a Network Engineer or a similar role.
In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, and Static routing.
Experience with troubleshooting/monitoring tools such as Cisco FMC (Firewall Management Center), Cisco DNA, Stealth watch, 1keyes, IT Glue, Ruckus Vsz, and Meraki dashboard.
Hands-on experience with installing and configuring Cisco switches.
Strong understanding of Wireless troubleshooting (Vendors: Ruckus, Ubiquity).
Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools. (Auvik, NPM, Ncentral)
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills
