As a Network Engineer of our emerging Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) network, you will develop maintenance schedules, deploy software updates, monitor deployments, and remediate incidents, and conduct performance monitoring. You will complete moves, adds, and changes as well as performing Access Management activities. Attention to detail, the ability to comprehend technical release notes, and creating activity reports is required.

Daily Operations
- Review operational status and stability of Network infrastructure (including switches, routers, firewalls and relevant appliances) for our Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) network.
- Manages connectivity of all cellular networks
- Review software patch release notes for compatibility and installation processes.
- Schedule maintenance windows for deployments, following all change management processes.
- Install new / rebuild existing network equipment in accordance with standards and architected designs based on project / operational requirements
- Resolves any issues with Verizon communication system (or other cellular provider).
- Validation of network equipment backups
- Participate in on-call rotation for support
- Create reporting as needed and present results to stakeholders.
- Provide recommendations on system enhancements that will improve reliability and performance of system
- Assist with recommending, scheduling, and implementing system hardware and/or software upgrades or repairs
- Researches, evaluates and recommends software and hardware solutions based on business need & anticipated growth
- Configures any unique alerts, alarms and downstream automation related to cellular metering assets
Operational Management
- Create knowledge articles to document software patch deployment and remediation tasks.
- Complete emergency (zero day) patch deployments.
- Complete moves, adds, and changes for maintenance collections and deployments.
- Monitor and remediate patching activity across a range of maintenance schedules.
- Manage and ensure effectiveness of our security solutions
- Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with stakeholders
- Perform routine audits of patching activity to confirm all updates are being applied and reported correctly.
Formal Education & Certification
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 4+ years equivalent work experience.
- The following certifications are highly desired:

Knowledge & Experience
- 5+ years, experience managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VLANs, firewalls, etc.
- 2+ years, managing enterprise enterprise-wide Cellular networks.
- 2+ years, in Network Engineering role
- 2+ years, experience administering tenants (Azure or similar public cloud provider)
- 1+ years, experience in an industry with regulatory oversight
- 2+ years, managing enterprise enterprise-wide WAN/LAN/WLAN
- Additional years’ experience required for a level 3
- Experience with ITRON
- Strong technical knowledge of Cisco Networking Software (IOS, XE, XR, and NX-OS) is required.
- Experience with transport layer protocols & media (cellular, microwave, dark fiber, leased services)
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, firewalls, switches, modems, network interface cards, etc.
- Excellent working knowledge of current protocols and standards, including TCP/IP, 802.11, EIGRP, BGP, IPSEC, OSPF, DMVPN, IPSec
- Experience with Firewalls, Remote Access VPNs, and other security appliances
- Red Hat Linux proficiency highly desired
- Understanding of orchestration and automation methodologies
- Knowledge and understanding of system flow charts, data processing concepts, and telecommunications principles
- Experience in a Managed Services environment is a plus
- Experience with SDWAN technologies is a plus
- Experience managing datacenter networks (Nexus NX-OS, ACI)

Base salary range: $90,350.00 - $128,750.00 (Level 2) or $101,200.00 - $144,200.00 (Level 3) per year, depending on qualifications
Annual Target Incentive: Level 2, 9.5% target
Level3, 12.0% target
Targets are calculated using eligible earnings during plan year participation. Payout, if earned, is based on company and individual performance for each plan year and may range from 0% – 200% of target. Targets are subject to change in subsequent plan years. Must be employed by September 30 in order to receive any prorated payout.
