Job Description
Main Responsibilities: network design, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
• Oversee the architecture and performance of the network.
• Evaluate leading and emerging technologies including automation, software-defined networking, advanced routing architectures, and DDOS mitigation strategies.
• Evaluate, promote, implement architectures to meet current and future systems and development requirements. Lead in the design, deployment, and documentation of these technologies.
• Develop new initiatives to simplify, optimize, standardize, and automate network designs. Create tooling to enhance operations, shorten implementation cycle, reduce service downtime, improve performance, and ensure that all security and compliance requirements are fully governed.
• Research and devise innovative proof-of-concept simulations of potential internal and external products for consideration by Management.
• Drive automation across all aspects of network engineering.
• Collaborate in the development of the company’s technology roadmap. Develop and support new product strategies and enhance existing service offerings.
• Troubleshoot Internet access for users.
• Maintain communication with providers (AT&T, Lumen, Comcast, Cisco, Fortinet, etc.) for new/existing support contract or technical assistance.
• Document all processes and plan changes
• Keep up to date inventory and network diagrams.
• Monitor and support connectivity between main site and DR site.
• Provide assistance with Visa and MasterCard audits for PCI/SSA compliance
• Administration of Cisco VoIP PBX.
• 24/7 availability
• Travel as needed.
Education/Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a network engineer or architect in a finance industry service provider network with significant and demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and supporting large scale multi-protocol networks.
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of service provider, data center, wireless, and security strategies. Experienced with design and support of both geographically dispersed and significantly sized deployments.
• Superior knowledge of Internet architectures, WAN routing, LAN switching, VoIP and packet tracing.
• Advanced knowledge of protocols such as MPLS, Segment Routing is a plus.
• Advanced Knowledge of FTTH services (DHCP, DNS, CGN, BNG, SIP).
• Advanced Knowledge of access technologies.
• Knowledge of Network Infrastructure automation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large scale projects to include project planning, project management, and reporting.
