The Assistant Project Manager will assist with the planning, organization, and management of the day-to-day operations, as well as any other responsibilities that the Project Manager may assign. In this role, the APM has a full understanding of a Project Engineer’s role and performs the duties of a PE on multiple projects efficiently and effectively, while learning the day-to-day functions of a Project Manager and diving deeper into the financial side of projects.

The Assistant Project Manager will assist with the planning, organization, and management of the day-to-day operations, as well as any other responsibilities that the Project Manager may assign. In this role, the APM has a full understanding of a Project Engineer’s role and performs the duties of a PE on multiple projects efficiently and effectively, while learning the day-to-day functions of a Project Manager and diving deeper into the financial side of projects.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 4 years of construction experience in the plumbing and/or mechanical trade; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or similar experience desired
- Proficient in all elements of the Project Engineer and able to navigate the following with minimal supervision:
- Safety & Company culture surrounding it
- MCAA Productivity Factors
- Documenting Project Delays
- Claims/ Liens/ Stop Notices
- Back charges
- Portal training
- Prefabrication opportunities
- Proficient in technical applications and software tools, including but not limited to:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Bluebeam
- Advanced knowledge of Mechanical Systems, Products, and Equipment including, Hydronic & Refrigerant Systems, Air Systems and Finish, Hangers & Seismic
- Advanced knowledge of Plumbing Systems including: Gravity System, Pressure systems, Med Gas & Lab Gas systems, Plumbing finish/ ADA
- Proven understanding of Project Maintenance and Startup Standard Operating Procedures, and Project Schedules (sequencing of work, crew flow, etc)
- Working knowledge of detailing and fabrication schedules
- Ability to perform monthly billings and cashflow projections
- Previous success in pricing process, global pricing, performing quantity take-offs, and executing change orders
- Experience and know how on running a small project autonomously under Project Manager supervision
