ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION: Multimedia Specialists design, produce, and finish interactive products. They apply understanding of a range of software applications (e.g., interactive authoring, graphic design, animation) and programming languages to integrate graphics with text and audio. They apply user interface design principles to presentation products to create a positive user experience. Activities include importing and exporting data, archiving, electronic publishing, and creating and enhancing images.

Front-End developers will produce HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for web applications so that a user can see and interact with them directly. They build the front-end of technologically sophisticated web-based visualization products that are driven by intelligence collected from various sources. These interactive products help users understand intelligence issues through a combination of narrative-driven reporting and data-driven exploration.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). 1. Demonstrated experience with visualization and conveyance to create interactive products that clearly communicate data reporting (i.e. website, interactive maps, dashboards).

Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience in interactive multimedia design or a related field that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in interactive multimedia design or a related field that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work.
Qualifications Desirable
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired:
1. Experience with User Experience (UX) methodologies including usability testing and 508 compliance.
2. Experience with development tools such as NodeJS, NPM, Git, PHP, Python, MySQL, and/or JavaScript frameworks such as Vue, React, or Angular.
3. Experience using video editing, interactive development and/or animation software such as Adobe Animate, Adobe After Effects, and/or Adobe Premiere Pro.

DCIPS Statement
NGA utilizes all processes and procedures of the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Non-executive NGA employees are assigned to five distinct pay bands based on the type and scope of work performed. The employee's base salary is established within their assigned pay band based on their unique qualifications. A performance pay process is conducted each year to determine a potential base pay salary increase and/or bonus. An employee's annual performance evaluation is a key factor in the performance pay process.
