DESCRIPTION
- Transact hedge strategies with counterparties with an understanding of full array of execution charges
- Partner with private funds businesses with in MSIM (real estate, infrastructure, private equity, private credit, and fund of funds – GP led secondaries)
- Provide reporting to deal team / fund heads on economic impact from hedging (deal level or entire fund level)
- Provide reporting to fund COO’s on liquidity impact from hedging
- Negotiate ISDA’s with hedge counterparties including securing trading lines of credit and understanding regulatory impact from hedging
- Desire to learn about how private funds operate, including how to partner with colleagues responsible for debt capital markets (e.g. fund finance and/or asset level leverage)
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-3 years’ experience in market risk solutions, preferably in the financial sponsor sector
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills needed for offering a strong foundation between sales/trading and sponsor style investment management
- Motivation to work on buy side with an understanding this is a risk management role that reports into COO function of MSIM
- Proactive person with ability to take on a high degree of responsibility and execute critical work streams with limited supervision
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and a strong team ethic that will enable the candidate to build and maintain a broad network within the global MSIM Private Funds platform (Deal Teams, Operations, Trading Counterparties)
- Desire to embrace technology on how investment level and hedge data flow between internal and external systems
- Bachelor’s degree required
Wage Transparency Statement
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $125,000 - $150,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
