Mission to North America (MNA) exists to cultivate Kingdom advancement through the PCA in North America.
MISSION
MNA provides expertise with excellence to all PCA churches, presbyteries and networks in North America by offering a suite of practical ministry resources - training, equipping, and assisting in missional purpose, serving communities to advance God's kingdom.
Summary Statement of Overall Purpose/Goal of Position
The position of MNA Executive Assistant Intern reports to Church Planting and Vitality Coordinator. The goal of the position is to effectively use resources and skills to assist in providing administrative support to the Church Planting and Vitality Coordinator in the areas outlined below. All responsibilities and tasks associated with the role of the MNA Executive Assistant Intern will ultimately help to fulfill MNA's purpose to cultivate Kingdom advancement through the PCA in North America.
Major Responsibilities
The position of MNA Executive Assistant Intern will provide administrative assistance in the following areas:
- Communications/Correspondence
- Organize and maintain the Church Planting and Vitality Coordinator's electronic filing system.
- Record minutes of meetings as determined by the Church Planting and Vitality Coordinator.
- Responsible for internal and external communications via memos, email, presentations, and reports as requested by the Church Planting and Vitality Coordinator.
- Provide drafts of and edit various documents including internal/external correspondence on behalf of the Church Planting and Vitality Coordinator.
- Create and maintain files, review drafts and finished documents for accuracy and grammar, including documents of a sensitive or confidential nature.
- Schedule/Calendar Management
- Arrange details for meetings for the Church Planting and Vitality Coordinator with internal MNA staff as well as external parties.
- Miscellaneous
- Provide support and assistance to the Church Planting and Vitality Coordinator regarding event planning, prayer groups, Readiness Seminar and Assessment evaluation and retooling, as well as podcasts schedules.
- A Christian whose life reflects mature, spiritual growth and is active in a local PCA or other evangelical church.
- A Christian who views the position as both a vocation (responsibility) and as a ministry (service).
- High School diploma/some college.
- Superior research, analytical, and planning skills. Keen attention to detail.
- Strong customer-service orientation.
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to manage multiple projects and completing priorities while adhering to deadlines.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, exercise mature professional judgment, and use discretion.
- Comfortable in team-oriented environment based on open, transparent, continual communication, information sharing and inclusive decision-making.
- Must be open to feedback and professional development.
- Capable of "managing up" to ensure deadlines are met and priorities kept.
- Must demonstrate utmost integrity, respect for confidential information.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- Thorough knowledge of principles of administrative management and project management.
- Knowledge of good office management principles.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Possess editing and proofreading skills.
- Skill and accuracy in the control, organization and maintenance of files and records.
- Ability to exercise diplomacy, gather information from others, make inquiries and synthesize information; ability to convey information and explain or discuss organizational policy and procedure with others in person or by telephone.
- Skill in the application of complex instructions, written and verbal; ability to accurately relay instructions in full or part to other staff.
