Job Description
The Misc Steel Designer will work under the Senior Misc Steel Estimator/Project Manager to produce shop fabrication drawings with accurate bills of materials for Pipe Supports, Handrails, Conveyors, Stairways, Shade Structures, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare Shop Fabrication drawings and sections using AutoCAD / Solid Works software to create 3D and 2D technical drawings
- Prepare RFI’s and collaborate project details with architects, engineers, and other team members to ensure designs meet project requirements.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously in a production-driven environment.
- Meet schedules for assigned projects.
- Perform detailed dimensional, bill material checks, and basic and complex layouts.
- Inspect for interferences and constructability.
- Provide detailed solutions to address various field fixes as required throughout the fabrication and installation of steel by employees.
- Maintain records of changes for purposes of submitting proposed change orders (PCOs)
- Assist with shop and field-related questions as necessary, and facilitate the regular updating of all stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- 2 to 5 Years in the design of Misc Steel. fabrication projects
- A college degree in drafting, engineering, or a relevant field is preferred but not Required. Experience can replace a Degree.
- Willing to train!
- Must be a team player.
- Experience with AutoCAD software (2-3 years minimum)
- Experience with SolidWorks software a plus
- Math skills
- Attention to detail
Our welding procedures include SMAW / GTAW /GMAW / FCAW processes. Welders and Fitters certified to AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX.
We can weld: Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Duplex Stainless Steel, Titanium, Hastelloy and Alloy 20 materials.
