A DAY IN THE LIFE:

The Mechanical Engineering Drafter is responsible for transferring drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation between different templates and vault systems. 

• Generate and detail design drawings and specifications for a variety of parts and tools using SolidWorks software.
• Create and maintain 3D models to ensure design accuracy and functionality.
• Prepare assembly drawings with bills of materials (BOMs) for manufacturing purposes.
• Interpret and apply engineering sketches, specifications, and calculations to create accurate technical drawings.
• Revise drawings according to engineer feedback and make necessary adjustments for manufacturability.
• Maintain a comprehensive archive of drawings and models.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs meet project requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Drafting or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Understanding of engineering principles, including tolerancing, dimensions, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong technical writing and editing skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.

COMPENSATION:

The starting base pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00 per hour. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market.

**This is a temporary position. As a temporary employee you will be employed through a staff agency partner. Benefits during your temporary assignment may be provided by the staffing agency. Access to Tandem sponsored benefits is contingent upon conversion from temporary to regular full-time status.  Conversion is determined based upon business need and job performance.
