St. George teachers are fully committed and highly effective in providing a rigorous faith-filled foundational education for our students as evidenced by our students' strong standardized test scores. Many of our 8th graders matriculate into Catholic or private high schools with academic honors and scholarships, and a majority enroll in at least one honors class as freshman, whether private or public school. Our teachers are extremely collaborative and supportive of each other. We have built strong partnerships with our parents, and our students are fully engaged, both of which has led to a family-like atmosphere throughout the school. St. George has had very little turn over in staffing because of our collegial spirit, respect for professional development and commitment to providing a warm, positive work environment for staff and students.
Currently, we are searching for a dynamic, and fully committed educator who can skillfully take on the role of middle Social Studies school teacher with a 6th Grade homeroom. The teaching responsibilities include 6-8th Social Studies, 6th grade writing and grammar, and 6th and 8th Grade religion. The 6th grade class attends Camp Seymour for 3 days each fall for science camp. We highly encourage educators of color to apply.

• can teach to the Middle SchoolSocial Studies and 6th grade ELA writing curriculum as defined by Washington State and Common Core standards
• can teach 6th and 8th grade religion curriculum as defined by the Archdiocese of Seattle.
• uses a variety of instructional strategies, assessments and computer technologies to meet the diverse needs of each student.
• can effectively communicate with an active parent community.
• is a practicing Catholic who uses the teachings of Christ in creating a supportive environment for children and families
• is willing to add value to the community using their gifts and talents in leadership roles outside the classroom.

Salary: The salary range for this position is from $55,000-$83,000. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
