Bike Share Field Operator

About this Position:

The Bicycle Field Operator will contribute to the daily operations of Baton Rouge Bike Share. This role will be responsible for ensuring bikes are maintained, charged, and balanced so they are ready and available to ride! We also anticipate this role to be integral for improving Tandem operations across all markets, utilizing your experience, learnings, and feedback to refine our processes.

Responsibilities:

More specifically this role will work to ensure that the Baton Rouge market has 100% of bikes available at all times, and that the bikes are in safe and good working condition, and that the bikes are evenly distributed throughout the system. To be successful the role will require proactive evaluation of your bikes and program utilizing physical analysis, data and reporting, and consistent communication with your manager. We expect you to treat your bikes like your own business with our guidance and support to ensure you are successful!

• Perform in field maintenance checks on pedal bikes, and e-bikes
• Perform daily battery swaps are done for the e-bikes as needed
• Rebalance and wrangle off-station bikes as needed
• Execute action plans for missing bikes and other market specific issues
• Participate in local events as needed to help promote the Bike Share program

Requirements:

• Willingness to get hands dirty in the market with bike maintenance, charging, and rebalancing
• Valid Driver's License
• Able to accept constructive feedback and learn on the job
• Able to provide feedback to help Tandem improve processes
• Ability to lift and transport several 40-80 pound bikes depending on needs
• Ability to travel and transport bikes between locations as necessary
• Hold oneself accountable to a set of goals
• Prioritize and schedule time effectively
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with leadership, peers, and mechanics
• Flexibility to work with varying schedules and workloads
• Ability to take initiative and work proactively
• Ability to think critically, escalating concerns and ideas to Tandem HQ
• Able to be a professional and friendly public face for Tandem while out and about
• Data driven, comfortable using reporting to make decisions and solve problems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

• Mechanic experience: 1 year (Preferred)
