Life Renewal Services, Inc. is an innovative and compassionate behavioral health company located in historic downtown Westminster, MD. LRS is dedicated to the highest quality Mental Health care for individuals and families. We provide services via telehealth, and in-person in our clinic and schools. We offer medication management, and psychiatric rehabilitation services available both in the home and community.
We serve all ages and groups with a client-centered, strengths-based approach from a multi-dimensional and trauma-informed perspective. We are searching for a full-time School-Based therapist to join our School-Based team working with children and adolescents in the Carroll County Public schools.
Ideal candidates will be compassionate, curious, and flexible team players open to developing new clinical skills who share our passion for helping children and adolescents and their families. These positions have full-time benefits, and weekly supervision is provided by board approved supervisors. Evidence Based Training will be provided.
General Responsibilities and Duties.
· Develop treatment plans that effectively address presenting issues and diagnosis.
- Regularly assess treatment progress with client, their family, and/or clinical treatment team.
- Provides treatment of Mental Health disorders utilizing excellent active and reflective listening skills, trauma-informed strategies, rapport building skills, and an ability to assess each client’s needs comprehensively and in an ongoing manner to adapt to growth and change over time.
· Possess the ability to work with clients from diverse backgrounds including diversity in race, culture, ethnicity, religion, gender identification, sexual orientation etc.
· Collaborate and coordinate with school staff as required by our MOU with the public school system.
- Collaborate with members of LRS treatment team including PRP staff and medication prescriber
- Keep meticulous records in accordance with current record-keeping systems, including, but not limited to progress notes, statistical information forms and all forms related to client charts.
- Administer assessments measuring impact of evidence based practices on behavioral health symptoms, and student and family satisfaction with services provided
- Complete all supporting documentation needed by billing personnel and/or third- party payers.
- Be aware of and follow all HIPPA standards, state regulations (COMAR), and CARF standards, follow professional Code of Ethics and adhere to strict confidentiality standards.
- Maintain licensure.
Clinical Expectations/Orientation:
· Awareness of and desire to learn more about trauma-focused concepts and interventions
· Knowledge of developmental stages, needs at each stage, and how behaviors reflect adaptations to context/environment
· Service delivery organized by a client-centered perspective informed by a variety of therapeutic interventions including but not necessarily limited to: motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral techniques, DBT, psychodynamic perspective, problem solving, solution-focused and strengths-based interventions, short-term, supportive, etc.
· Ability to respond to actively suicidal clients and intervene in crisis situations to maintain client safety
· Growth mindset, openness to lifetime learning perspective about self and others
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will have LGPC, LMSW, LCPC, or LCSW-C.
We welcome both new and seasoned therapists and provide clinical training and close supervision organized around therapist need and skill level.
