Extreme Counseling Solutions. Inc. is seeking a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-A) to assist us in our mission to provide comprehensive skill building services for adults diagnosed with serious mental illness. In this, you will work on-site with individuals who are residing in independent MHSB counselor will assist them in their personal living space apartments and/or homes. Helping assist individuals to develop and build the skills, they will need for living full independence in the community. As a part of a dynamic and supportive team, our Mental Health Skill Builders work together with the other Mental Health providers and the medical providers to develop an individualized service plans for all individuals to assist towards independent living goals and community stability.

Requirements: (Experience, Essential Education, and Skills Needed):
Must be able to meet criteria for certification as QMHP-A (qualified Mental Health professional – adult services). At a minimum, candidates must possess:
- A bachelor's degree in human services or related field, or Special Education from an accredited college and with at least one year of clinical experience providing direct services to individuals with a diagnosis of mental illness. - One year of experience working with adults who have been diagnosed with a mental illness in a treatment setting.
Position requires valid Driver’s License in state of residence, and an extensive pre-employment background check and drug screening.
This position requires a high level of proficiency using computers, including Microsoft Office Suite programs and Electronic Health Records.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidate is preferred, but not required.
Preferred Qualifications / Other Relevant Job Information:
Experience providing community-based Mental Health services to adults diagnosed with a serious Mental Health condition is strongly preferred.
Experience with Medicaid billable service requirements is strongly preferred.
Experience working as part of an inter-disciplinary treatment team is strongly preferred.
Must have your own vehicle and willing to drive throughout Tricities, Richmond, Henrico and ect.
Candidates who have experience working with individuals diagnosed with Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder.
The Mental Health Skill Builder must possess skills and abilities necessary for the delivery of -
- Psycho-educational services,
- Mentoring services,
- Crisis de-escalation services,
- Family relationship building,
- Parenting skills training,
- Social skills building,
- Anger Management,
- Self sufficiency and self management skills,
- Academic and vocational guidance, community awareness and responsibility, and
- Goals setting.
- MAY NOT perform individual or family counseling/therapy, unless licensed, or license eligible and working under the supervision of an LMHP.
Qualified Paraprofessional in Mental Health (QPPMH) are welcomed to apply with a valid certification and behavioral health professional experience.
