Substance Abuse Counselor

Job description
The SMARTS Recovery Hospital of Richmond is seeking a certified or licensed Substance Abuse group facilitator, as outlined by the Department of Health Professionals, for immediate positions. Facilitators may choose between Full-time (2 groups in 8 sessions) or Part-time (1 group in 4 sessions) per week. Full time candidates earn 67,600-83,200 per year based on State qualifications in our Richmond or Tidewater area locations.
We are a technologically advanced state-wide healthcare agency with career opportunities for individuals who hold at minimal a Virginia State CSAC certification and experience facilitating ASAM 2.1, 2.5, or 3.1 services. Candidates will also have at minimum a Bachelor’s degree in a qualified Human Services Field.
The Substance Abuse Counselor facilities groups four days per week in three-hour sessions; and completes documentation of services, but may be required to assist with Assessments and Authorizations. The average per-group caseload will not exceed 10 clients.
Drug Screening, Driver Record Review, Criminal Record Investigation, and Professional Recommendations including Official Educational Transcripts are required.
