Core Functions:
● Relationship Building – Engage in active listening with members in order to build relationships, understand individual’s goals and interests, and take the initiative to assist in the achievement of those goals.
● Customer Service Excellence – Provide excellent customer service and positive communication to all customers, including but not limited to, members, participants, guests, volunteers, and fellow employees, by listening first and responding to their needs in a safe and effective manner.
● Role Model– Model and encourage the development and practice of the YMCA character values (Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility), performing all assigned duties with energy and enthusiasm. Abide by all personnel policies and guidelines, follow all reasonable directives issued by leadership, and uphold rules, regulations and safety standards associated with the YMCA.
● Annual Support Campaign – Provide support for the annual campaign and other special events when possible and as directed.
● Risk Management – Remain familiar with risk management procedures in the YMCA facility, which include but are not limited to: swimming pool rules and procedures, current CPR/AED and First Aid certification, child abuse prevention, and understanding specific responsibilities during fire, hurricane, tornado, or other emergency situations.
Job Specific Functions:
- Greet members with exceptional customer service, both in person and over the phone. Answer questions and provide accurate membership and program information.
- Provide and track tours of the facilities and programs. Promote, sell and accept membership and registration documents.
- Collect, document and reconcile money collected during shift.
- Respond to customer complaints and work toward a mutually satisfying solution.
- Help ensure that the Member Services area and lobby are presentable and safe at all times.
- Model and encourage the development and practice of the Y character values (Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility)
- Other duties as assigned.
Prerequisites:
Minimum Age: 18
Education: HS/Equivalent
Certifications: CPR/First Aid within 30 days of hire.
Experience: Previous customer service experience preferred.
Pre-hire drug test and criminal background screening are required.
