Compensation
Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
The Medical Secretary provides secretarial and clerical support to the provider as well as office support to provide quality patient care.
Education Required
- Must complete in-house orientation program
- High School Diploma
Experience And Skills
- Speaks, reads and writes English
- Minimum 3-6 years of related experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Good judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is required, typing skills of 65-70 wpm
License/Certifications
Working Conditions
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn
- Frequent, prolonged standing/walking, lifting.
- Sitting in front of a computer for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift 15 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, and retrieve files.
- Frequent telephone usage.
