Medical Scheduler/Secretary

Citrus Cardiology Consultants, P.A., is looking for a part-time Medical Scheduler/Secretary for The Villages location. This position is primarily responsible for checking patients in/out and scheduling appointments, serving as the administrative assistant to the physicians.

Responsibilities:

• Perform patient appointment reminder calls.
• Schedule patient appointments as directed by the physician.
• Reschedule patients as directed.
• Access hospital portals to gather information only for the use of the physician in the decision-making and treatment of the patient.
• Solicit appropriate authorization requests either to the authorizations department or, when necessary, with the insurance company directly.
• Provide visit documentation, including prescriptions, appointment summary, testing instructions, etc. as necessary at patient check-out.
• Provide patients with appropriate instructions for upcoming testing, procedures or other information as directed by the physician’s orders.
• Serve as back-up to the telephone operator when necessary.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year or more related experience or training
• 1 year of more in a medical environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
